Ärzte für den Klimaschutz / Doctors for climate protection

Vertreter aus den Gesundheitsberufen unterliegen einer besonderen Achtsamkeit, aber auch Verpflichtung für die Gesundheit der Bevölkerung, für die globale Gesundheit der Menschheit und der Natur. Dabei ist der Klimawandel die größte Herausforderung, die die Menschheit jemals hatte. Ärzte und alle im Gesundheitssystem arbeitende Personen haben laut Richard Horton gemäß dem General Medical Council (GMC) „die Verantwortung, eine Verpflichtung, sich in alle Formen des gewaltfreien und sozialen Protest zu engagieren, um den Klimanotstand anzugehen.“ (Richard Horton, The editor of TheLancet)

Representatives of the health professions are subject to a special mindfulness, but also a duty to the health of the population, the global health of humans and nature. Climate change is the biggest challenge humanity has ever faced. According to Richard Horton, the editor of The Lancet, one of the most prestigious medical journals in the world, has come out officially asking all health professionals to engage in non-violent social protest to protect people from the climate & ecological breakdown. He refers to a document from General Medical Council (GMC)

Health for future

Ärzt*innen, Pflegekräfte, Therapeut*innen, Studierende und Auszubildende der Gesundheitsberufe und Beschäftigte im Gesundheitssektor treten für den Klimaschutz ein.

„Wir treten dafür ein, dass

die „Behandlung“ der Klimakrise und ihrer Folgen für die Gesundheit eine zentrale Aufgabe des Gesundheitssektors wird,
die Ziele des Pariser Abkommens und der 1,5°C‑Begrenzung eingehalten werden,
Deutschland bis 2035 klimaneutral wird,
die gesundheitlichen Auswirkungen des Klimawandels bei sämtlichen Klimaschutzmaßnahmen berücksichtigt werden,
das Thema Klimawandel und Gesundheit in den Curricula der Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildungen der Gesundheitsberufe verpflichtend verankert wird.

Wir unterstützen Fridays for Future und beteiligen uns mit eigenen Aktionen und Projekten an der notwendigen Transformation des Gesundheitssektors und unserer Gesellschaft.“

the „treatment“ of the climate crisis and its consequences for health becomes a central task of the health sector,
the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the 1.5 ° C limit are respected,

the health effects of climate change are taken into account in all climate protection measures,

Rescue for Future – We know sickness

RESCUE FOR FUTURE ist ein Zusammenschluss von Angehörigen aller Heilberufe, deren Anliegen die Rettung, Wiederherstellung und Erhaltung der individuellen und globalen Gesundheit von Mensch und Natur ist und die deshalb die Forderungen von Fridays For Future nach schnellen und konsequenten Schritten zum Aufhalten der Klimakrise unterstützen.

RESCUE FOR FUTURE fordert von den Akteuren des Gesundheitssektors:

1. – dass sie ihre gesellschaftliche Position nutzen, um bezüglich der genannten Krisen zur Aufklärung und Mobilisierung der Öffentlichkeit und der politischen Entscheidungsträger beizutragen und Gegenmaßnahmen zu ergreifen.

2. – die Vorbereitung der nationalen und internationalen Gesundheitssysteme auf sich verändernde Umwelt- und Klimabedingungen und die Integration in entsprechende Aktionspläne.

3. – eine verstärkte Förderung von Forschung und Lehre mit Bezug zu Umweltzerstörung, Artensterben, Klimakrise und Gesundheit an medizinischen Fakultäten und Instituten.

4. – verbindliche Nachhaltigkeitsziele hinsichtlich des Ressourcenverbrauchs und der Erzeugung von umweltschädlichen, insbesondere toxischen und antimikrobiellen Abfällen sowie von Treibhausgas-Emissionen (direkt und indirekt) in allen Bereichen des Gesundheitssektors

5. – dass sie ihre Organisationen und insbesondere Veranstaltungen nachhaltig und emissionsarm gestalten und dieses Leitbild wegweisend präsentieren.

6. – eine Stärkung gesundheitspräventiver Maßnahmen, welche zusätzlich umweltschützend und emissionsreduzierend wirken.

RESCUE FOR FUTURE fordert von der Bundesregierung:

1. – den Beschluss und die Umsetzung aller Maßnahmen, die für das Erreichen der Pariser Klimaziele – insbesondere die Begrenzung des globalen Temperaturanstiegs auf höchstens 1.5° C über vorindustriellem Niveau, welche essentiell für den Erhalt der menschlichen Gesundheit und unserer Umwelt ist – erforderlich sind.

2.– die Etablierung und Einhaltung der weiteren, notwendigen, verbindlich und konsequent zu gestaltenden, nationalen und internationalen Nachhaltigkeitsziele bezügliche Umwelt-, Arten- und Klimaschutz im Sinne der UN Sustainable Development Goals

3. – die Berücksichtigung von gesundheitlichen Zusammenhängen in allen Politikbereichen (Health in all Policies-Ansatz).

RESCUE FOR FUTURE demands from the health sector:

1. – that they use their social position to contribute to the education and mobilization of the public and political decision-makers regarding the mentioned crises and to take countermeasures.

2. – the preparation of national and international health systems for changing environmental and climatic conditions and their integration into relevant action plans.

3. – Increased promotion of research and teaching related to environmental degradation, species extinction, climate crisis and health at medical schools and institutes.

4. – binding sustainability goals in terms of resource use and production of environmentally harmful, especially toxic and antimicrobial waste, as well as greenhouse gas emissions (direct and indirect) in all areas of the health sector

5. – that they make their organizations and in particular events sustainable and low-emission and present this mission statement groundbreaking.

6. – Strengthening health-preventive measures, which additionally have an environmental protective and emission-reducing effect.

RESCUE FOR FUTURE demands from the Federal Government:

1. – the adoption and implementation of all measures necessary to achieve the Paris climate targets, in particular the limitation of global temperature increase to a maximum of 1.5 ° C above preindustrial level, which is essential for the preservation of human health and the environment.

2.- the establishment and adherence to the further, necessary, binding and consistent national and international sustainability goals relating to environmental, species and climate protection as defined by the UN Sustainable Development Goals

3. – the consideration of health contexts in all policies (Health in All Policies approach).
